Susan and Jeff Vandegenachte, who launched TruBlue of Southern Wisconsin in the fall of 2018, have earned the TruBlue Rising Star Award. The award, which recognizes the Vandegenachte’s early business growth efforts, was presented at the company’s conference in Las Vegas on February 19, 2019.
TruBlue Total House Care Franchise President Greg Platz said the corporate team wanted to recognize the Vandegenachtes not only because of their early efforts to grow TruBlue of Southern Wisconsin, but also because of their desire to be part of their community.
“Susan and Jeff have established TruBlue in the Southern Wisconsin market not only as a trusted service provider, but as a leader in the community. TruBlue of Southern Wisconsin has an outstanding reputation for customer service and, although they are still early in their business growth, they have already given back to local causes such as animal shelters and breast cancer awareness. The sky’s the limit for Susan and Jeff and I’m excited to see what 2019 brings for TruBlue of Southern Wisconsin,” Platz said.
Susan is a lifelong resident of Southern Wisconsin and Jeff has lived in the area for about 13 years. Not only do they enjoy volunteering at Lakeland Animal Shelter in Elkhorn, but they are active bowlers and especially enjoy bowling in fundraisers. They have four children – Lisa, David, Kailyn and Matthew – as well as two grandchildren, Brayden and Kenzie.
“We were not expecting to be recognized at this event, so it came as a complete surprise. We thank our friends and family who believe in us and continue to believe and support us in our endeavor. But most importantly we want to thank our customers and loyal employees because without them, this would not have been possible,” Susan said.
Susan owned a Merry Maids franchise for about 10 years and Jeff has a varied background that has often included working with contractors and building materials. They’d been looking for the right business opportunity for almost five years when they came across TruBlue. They liked that the business allowed them to use their backgrounds while making a positive impact on people in their community. In addition to working with individual home owners and residents, they’ve been working on expanding their business clientele.
“We have met so many wonderful people in our community since opening TruBlue of Southern Wisconsin and we’re working to spread the word about what we do at TruBlue. We have joined the area Chamber and Rotary Club as well as a BNI Group and we are starting to work with more business clients. For example, we have connected with a local home builder and we’ve contracted to do their construction clean-ups and we hope to maintain these homes for the new families by customizing work for their specific needs. We are also networking with other area business owners with the hopes that we can work together in the future,” Susan said.
