Local entrepreneurs and veterans Thomas Hester and Phon Truong are pleased to announce the launch of their new local business, TruBlue of Gastonia.
TruBlue is a full-service company that provides handyman, house cleaning, emergency repairs, yard/lawn care and seasonal services that are perfect for busy families, seniors and anyone who want the comforts of their own home without worrying about critical property maintenance. TruBlue of Gastonia serves Belmont, Charlotte, Cramerton, Gastonia, Lowell, McAdenville, Mount Holly, Steele Creek and the surrounding areas.
To assist those with ongoing home care needs or who want to take property management off their plates entirely, TruBlue has a monthly House Care Plus program, which enables clients to hire TruBlue to provide regular, monthly maintenance. TruBlue also works with homeowners, realtors and rental property owners who need to quickly get homes move-in ready and keep them maintained and has commercial services for business clients.
“TruBlue is unique because, as a national franchise, we are committed to providing excellent customer experiences through one-on-one service and attention. When you get a quote from us, it’s clear, you know what you’re paying for and it’s not a high-pressure situation. We would love to help you with whatever you need, but we aren’t there to sell you on a service. We want to give you the information you need to make the right decision for your family and we want you to be comfortable with us so you’ll call us again next time. That experience is what makes us unique,” Hester said.
Truong came to America in 1983, moved to Gastonia in 1990 and graduated from Belmont Abbey College with a bachelor’s degree in business management. She joined the United States Navy and served as a Recruiter for three years and then worked as a Deputy Disbursing Officer. She was deployed to the Mediterranean twice. Truong left the service in 2005 and joined the Navy Reserves in 2006, where she worked as a Builder with the Civil Engineering and Building Unit until she retired from the service. She is fluent in Vietnamese and Khmer, a language primarily spoken in Cambodia.
Hester is a disabled veteran – he served in the United States Navy and worked in intelligence. While he was growing up, Hester had two major career influences: his dad was a business manager and his stepdad was a contractor and home builder. Hester tried to start his own home care business when he was in his mid-20s, but eventually found himself back in business management. He sees TruBlue as the perfect combination of his influences and the business he tried to build years ago. Truong and Hester are both excited to also have a new opportunity to serve the community in a new way.
“We believe in doing what’s right and we are here to guide people toward the best decision for their individual situation – we aren’t here to just sell services. We are both passionate about helping people and we’re excited to take that to the next level through TruBlue of Gastonia,” Truong said.
